MGA suspends Rush Gaming’s licence

In its first enforcement for 2024, the Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) has suspended the authorization awarded to Rush Gaming Ltd, a white label provider to iGaming brands, effective as of 9 January 2024, in terms of reg. 8 (1) (f) of the Gaming Compliance and Enforcement Regulations.

Rush Gaming was authorised to provide Type 1, 2 and 4 gaming services and is no longer authorised to carry out any gaming operations. It is, however, required to retain and provide access to all registered players to their player accounts and to refund all player funds.

In its Press Release, the MGA stated that the sanction was being imposed since Rush Gaming failed to comply with one or more applicable obligations in terms of any regulatory instrument or any other applicable law of Malta. Rush Gaming may appeal the decision.

Later this month, Mr Charles Mizzi will take the helm of the MGA, effective 26 January. Mr Mizzi has said that he is keen to build on the MGA’s past successes and, in collaboration with the team under the guidance of the responsible Minister and the Board of Governors, strategically steer the Authority forward. The goal, he added, is to further strengthen Malta’s already robust position in the field and deliver value to all stakeholders.
