Fanatics enters Kansas sports betting arena with digital sportsbook launch

Fanatics Holdings, a global digital sports platform, has made its mark in Kansas, US with the launch of its subsidiary, Fanatics Betting and Gaming’s sportsbook services.

According to its press release, Fanatics said this expansion signifies another milestone in the company’s nationwide growth strategy, offering residents and visitors in Kansas access to the Fanatics Sportsbook application, compatible with both Android and iOS devices.

Strategic acquisition in 2023

The entrance into the Kansas market follows Fanatics’ strategic acquisition of PointsBet’s US-facing assets, a move announced in August 2023.

With this transition, former PointsBet customers in Kansas will seamlessly transition to the Fanatics Sportsbook platform, retaining their account details, balances, and rewards points.

One distinctive feature of Fanatics’ offering is the opportunity for Kansas bettors to earn up to 5% back on their wagers in the form of FanCash, setting it apart from competitors in the US sports betting landscape.

Expanding operations in the US

The Kansas launch follows closely on the heels of Fanatics’ recent debut in New York, where the company replaced PointsBet’s application, mirroring the transition process witnessed in Kansas.

Earlier this year, Fanatics also unveiled its sportsbook in Vermont.

This after the Vermont Department of Liquor and Lottery has chosen Fanatics Sportsbook, among two others, to lead the charge in introducing mobile sports wagering to the state.

Promoting responsible gaming

Beyond its expansion endeavours, Fanatics is actively involved in promoting responsible gaming practices by participating in the creation of the Responsible Online Gaming Association (ROGA).

Collaborating with industry peers such as DraftKings, FanDuel, and BetMGM, among others, ROGA aims to combat problem gambling by fostering responsible gaming measures and supporting research initiatives.

With pledges exceeding $20 million (€185 million) from leading operators, ROGA underscores the industry’s commitment to promoting a safe and sustainable gaming environment for all participants.
